SIDART believes that early childhood care and development as well as education should be grounded and all focus must be there in the first 1000days.The opportunities provided to a child in the first two years of life are very crucial in determining the future course of life. It is thus important that care givers including the mother and father, being the key factor involved, need to focus on every minute detail that matters in the area so that they can help children successfully trough this crucial phase of human development, and preparing them for later years.

SIDART has been working with UNICEF in tribal areas of Rajasthan – Dungarpur on Early childhood care and development in close coordination with the Panchayati Raj department, ICDS and Medical health and family welfare departments.

Besides this way back in 2001 SIDART initiated an innovative and unique Training and Capacity building Program for the pre-primary teachers. The programme consists of 5 days workshops. These workshops  have been organized for various schools of Jaipur. The training was facilitated by eminent resource persons who had a considerable and long standing hands-on experience and knowledge of early child care, development, and education. Different areas were covered such as the various developments i.e. physical, socio-social, emotional, language, cognitive development, motor development, imagination & creativity, importance of play and curriculum planning. The program adopted a participatory approach, involving practical exercises, brainstorming, group discussions, games and so on.

The objective of the program was to enable the teachers to review and get oriented regarding the strategies of Early Child Care Education. The program was effective in enhancing communication skills, promoting behavioral changes in their approach for child care and understanding the socio-physiological status of the children. After the workshops, teachers received a five days’ certificate of the course in early child care en education.
